Pensiamo Welcomes Our 2017 Supply Chain Summer Interns!
Each year we continue to be impressed with the quality of candidates that come to our program and this year is no exception. Our interns are eager to help and learn, have a fresh perspective on how to communicate with our customers, and are excited about seeing changes evolve in healthcare.
On June 16, our interns presented their “Report In” presentations in the Executive Board room on the 62nd floor of the US Steel tower – talk about an intimidating environment to kick off the program! The presentations give Pensiamo executives and managers the chance to get to know the interns and ask questions about their hopes, dreams, expectations, and plans for this summer. The interns were phenomenal at thinking on their toes and answering some tough questions about where they see themselves in the future. Each presentation was unique and inspiring. We are all feeling invigorated to get to work this summer!
We have some great activities planned for the interns this summer. This week, the interns will visit Cranberry Twp., PA, where they will take a tour of the consolidated distribution center and visit our Pensiamo company headquarters. They will also have an opportunity to tour the UPMC Sports Medicine at the Lemieux Sports Complex – training facility and home to the 2017 Stanley Cup Champions!
Next week the interns will spend the day at the US Steel tower learning about each of the Supply Chain departments and how we work together to solve difficult problems. We are challenging the interns to answer the following during each presentation:
- What does the department do?
- How do they do what they do?
- Who do they do it for (i.e. who are their customers or end users)?
- Why is the department important to Pensiamo’s business?
- Where do you think the department will be in a year (i.e. what does the future for this department look like)?
- List a key takeaway or theme you had from this session
We are thrilled to welcome our 2017 Supply Chain Summer Interns and look forward to a GREAT summer!
